All too often I get notifications that an update is available for:
- My Watch
- My Phone
- My Laptop
- My Doorbell
- My Security System
- My TV
- My Car (seems like 2x per month)
- My Software Applications (dozens of them separately)
It takes a good deal of time to implement the updates and even more to understand what changes were made at times. For instance, this fall Apple will update iOS and MacOS significantly with new features.
What other operating systems do you have in your business that need to be updated? How do you manage the updates? How do you prepare all the affected employees for the update? One of the worst is a new ERP, Enterprise Resource Planning, which could be argued is a Business Operating System that affects so many other parts of the company and its operations.
